What Changes the Quote

  • Number and size of rooms, plus ceiling height.
  • Walls only or walls, ceilings, doors, frames and trims.
  • Cracks, holes, stains, peeling coatings and other preparation.
  • Occupied-property staging and furniture protection.
  • Building access, lift bookings, parking and permitted work hours.
  • Colour changes, sheen selection and the coating system specified.

Compare the Same Scope

Check whether each quote includes the same surfaces, preparation, coats, products, protection and clean-up. Ask for exclusions to be written down. If repairs reveal an underlying leak or substrate issue, that cause may need separate investigation before painting can continue.

Prepare for the Site Visit

Decide which surfaces are included, note your preferred colours, and confirm building access. Photos can help with an initial discussion, but they cannot show every surface defect or access constraint.
